Adoni is a city in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in the Rayalaseema uplands region, approximately 50 miles (80 kilometres) west-southwest of Kurnool and 140 miles (225 kilometres) southwest of Hyderabad, Telangana.

Adoni was originally a bastion for the monarchs of Vijayanagar, a mediaeval Hindu state. It was thereafter governed by Muslims until 1792, when it was ceded to the nizam of Hyderabad princely state as a result of a conflict between the British East India Company and Tippu Sultan. In 1680, a magnificent mosque (Jmi Masjid) was built there. Adoni produces cotton textiles and carpets. It lies on the railway line that connects Mumbai to the northwest and Bengaluru (Bangalore) to the south. The city is home to the TGLG Polytechnic (founded in 1982) and the Adoni Arts and Science College (founded in 1962). Pop. (2001) 157,305; (2011) 166,304.
