Maharajas Express Heritage of India – 7 Nights & 8 Days

Set out on a tour of the historic caverns of Ajanta after a revitalising breakfast onboard the Maharajas' Express. Rock cut carvings and paintings of Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain deities abound in these caverns. The majority of the rock carvings reflect the biography of Gautama Buddha and his earlier incarnations, making them a great example of Buddhist art and construction.

After finishing an all-day adventure, return to the train for dinner and an overnight stay.

After a revitalising morning meal onboard Maharajas' Express, depart for a sightseeing tour of Udaipur that includes the City Palace complex and Crystal Gallery. Enjoy a lunch fit for an imperial emperor by strolling through the City Palace complex to gain a glimpse of bygone regal times.

After lunch, you have a variety of activities to pick from, including a walking tour of the city's markets, a look at the royal family's collection of antique cars, the Son-et-Lumiere programme at City Palace, or a relaxing spa treatment in one of the city's upscale hotels.

Return to the train later for an evening meal and overnight stay.

On the fourth day of the Heritage of India tour, the Maharajas' Express arrives in Sun City Jodhpur after traversing the various landscapes of India.

After enjoying a great breakfast when you arrive in Jodhpur, you may choose to either unwind in the regal Maharajas' Express carriages or take part in an optional rural safari.

Lunch will be provided aboard the ship.

After lunch, depart for a tour of the Old Clock Tower Market and a visit to the Mehrangarh Fort, which depicts the culture and history of the city.

After the expedition, get back on the train to proceed to Bikaner. There will be dinner service aboard. While the Maharajas' Express travels on to its next destination of Bikaner, you can unwind in your regal carriage.

The city of Bikaner is one of the most important cities in Rajasthan, as far as the art and culture of the state is concerned. On reaching Bikaner, you can get an optional tour to either Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok or Lalgarh Palace Museum. You can also choose to go to the camel breeding firm or to the local jewelry market for bag packing some exclusive Kundan jewelries along with you.

The visitors will stay in the Junagarh Fort for the afternoon. A camel ride through the sand dunes is scheduled after lunch to increase the tour's excitement.

With cultural performances by the Kalbeliya and Langa Artists, over a wonderful cocktail and a barbeque feast, the evening in Bikaner will become more endearing.

Return to the train at night to spend the night there.

The 'pink city' of Rajasthan, Jaipur, is reached by the Maharajas' Express on the sixth day of the journey. This city provides a glimpse of the state's culture thanks to its plethora of palaces, forts, and vibrant local marketplaces.

The sixth day of the royal Indian tour begins with a revitalising breakfast and a tour of Jaipur. The city of Jaipur hosts an extravagant lunch and an exhibition elephant polo match for the guests in the afternoon.

Explore the splendour of Rajputana architecture in the Amber Fort after lunch, then take a ride on an eye-catching elephant's back. You might explore the local markets later in the evening, indulge in a spa treatment, or go to the City Palace.

After a mouthwatering meal and an overnight stay, return to the train.

On the seventh day of the journey, the Maharajas' Express arrives in Sawai Madhopur to add a dash of excitement to your Heritage of India tour. In Sawai Madhopur sits one of India's top tiger sanctuaries, Ranthambore National Park.

Enjoy a safari in the early morning to Ranthambore's exhilarating landscape. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Vivanta by Taj Sawai Madhopur after your safari.

Return to the train later to unwind and go on the journey to the following stop, Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore Fatehpur Sikri's attractions once you arrive to have a better understanding of the history of the Mughal Empire in India and mediaeval India.

Return to the train for dinner and an overnight stay later in the evening.

When we get at Taj Mahal, the sun's first rays will be reaching the ground, revealing its unparalleled majesty and splendour. The Taj Mahal, a witness to eternal love, is most beautiful when illuminated by the sun in the morning.

Later, indulge in a glass of champagne while dining in royal style at the Taj Khema in Agra.

Re-board the train to return to Delhi. On-board lunch will be delectable. The Heritage of India by Maharajas' Express luxury train voyage comes to an end as it reaches Delhi.
