The Nanda Devi & Milam Glacier Trek given by India Pilgrim Tours is designed to immerse you in the natural splendour of the Kumaon Himalayan region. The Milam Glacier trip is one of the best in the region, taking you to some of the most remote locations with amazing views.

Once you reach the glacier, you will be captivated by the spectacular Mt. Trishul (7070 metres), which guards everything in its area.

Day 1 - Delhi - Kathgodam (300 kms by train)

Our tour consultant will meet you when you arrive in Delhi from your home state or nation and provide you with a comfortable journey to the Old Delhi Railway Station. The next morning, you will arrive in Kathgodam. In the hotel, spend the night.

Day 2 - Kathgodam - Almora - Munsyari (2290 mts/7512 ft) 300 kms/8-9 hrs

You will arrive in Kathgodam on the second day and then proceed by car for Munsyari via Almora. Kathgodam is a portion of the twin township of Haldwani-Kathgodam, which is situated in the Uttarakhand province's Nainital district. Numerous temples, including "Sheetla Devi" and "Kalichaud," are located in the town. When you get to Munsyari, check into a hotel to spend the night.

Day 3 - Munsyari - Lilam (1850 m/6068 ft) (14 kms/ 5-6 hrs)

Drive 10 kilometres to the Selapani settlement, which has a few stores, to start the third day. You may meet our trekking team and ponies right here. The Darkot settlement is reached by a descent along the walking trail from Selapani.

The trail continues to descend from Darkot until it reaches the Gori Ganga and Jimigad hamlet. After a few minutes of slow progress, the trekking route eventually begins to climb in order to reach Lilam. In the motel, spend the night.

Day 4 - Lilam – Bugdiar (2500 mts/8200 ft) (12 kms/5-6 hrs)

You must report at the ITBP (Border Police) checkpoint as soon as possible today. Later, you will gently and gradually cross the post to arrive in Rupshya Bagar. The journey is jam-packed with excitement and agonising experiences. The trail winds through breathtaking canyons, gorgeous forests, and magnificent scenery. From Ralam Glacier, the trail goes on to the meeting of the Gori Ganga and Ralam Rivers.

From this point on, there will be a straight rise and a moderate descent to a new colony at Bugdiar. Be sure to finish all paperwork at the ITBP checkpoint before beginning your walk to Bugdiar. Follow the instructions to observe the confluence of the Poting River and Gori Ganga. A short descent will lead you to the campsite on the river Gori Ganga after you have passed the Poting River. In the tent, spend the night.

Day 5 - Bugdiar– Martoli (3430 mts/11250 ft) (14 kms/5-6 hrs)

Begin your hike today from Bugdiar in the direction of Nahar Devi along the right side of the valley. The trek winds through various rock formations while providing breathtaking views of the raging river Gori Ganga. From here, it is a moderate ascent to Mapang, then a descent to Railkot.

You must report to the ITBP and continue your journey to Martoli from here. It starts out as a straight ascent from Railkot to the ridge, then descends to Martoli hamlet. In the tent, spend the night.

Day 6 - Martoli – Milam (3450 m/11316 ft) (11kms/5-6 hrs)

You will arrive at the Lwan Gad bridge today by the trekking route from Martoli. After crossing the bridge, make your way up a hill that soon flattens out and continues towards another bridge across the Goriganga.

A steep trail ascends to Burfu village from here. Later, a different track continues in Milam's direction. The slow-moving trekking route leads to the settlement of Beju, which has a view of Ganghar and the Pachu Valley on the other end. From here, one may witness breathtaking vistas of Nanda Devi Peak. The broad valley allows you to see Milam Village and the imposing Hardeol Peak. You will later see the River Gori Ganga's confluence from Utha Dhura.

Following a difficult climb, the trail leads to a bridge and the hamlet of Milam. You must report to an ITBP checkpoint before moving on to the abandoned village of Milam. In the tent, spend the night.

Day 7 - Milam – Milam Glacier – Milam (6 kms /3-4 hrs)

Start your walk towards the Milam Glacier in the early morning. The trail travels past the abandoned homes of Milam Village. The trail is clearly delineated at first, but as you get closer to the glacier, it changes into moraine and rocks.

Explore the glacier and take in the impressive views of Rishi Parvat (6692 metres), Trishuli (7074 metres), and Hardeol (7151 metres) as soon as you arrive in Milam. Trek back to Milam Village afterwards. Spend the afternoon lazing around and discovering Milam, a significant hub for trade between Tibet and India.

Day 8 - Milam - Martoli

The trip from Milam to Martoli village is quite straightforward. The towns of Burfu and Belju are need to be crossed. Later, from Lwan Gad, there is a difficult ascent to the town of Martoli. Although Mother Nanda Devi's traditional shrine and a few historic homes double as motels and lodges for visitors, Martoli is a lonely settlement. In the tent, spend the night.

Day 9 - Martoli – Lwani (13 kms/5-6 hrs)

With Nanda Devi East dominating the horizon, the journey starts on the right side of the valley. Up until you reach the abandoned town at Lawn, the trekking route traverses through lovely meadows, lowers, and ascents. In the tent, spend the night.

Day 10 - Lwani – Nanda Devi East Base Camp (4150 m/13612 ft) (13kms/5-6 hrs

The journey to the Nanda Devi East Base Camp is strenuous and calls for careful footing. The track travels through a series of moraine fields and two well-known meadows en route to Nanda Devi, Sartol Kharak (3650 metres) and Naspanpatti (3850 metres). The vista is stunning. In the tent, spend the night.

Day 11 - Nanda Devi East Base Camp – Nanda Devi East (3 kms one side/3-4 hrs)

Set off on a hiking trail in the direction of Nanda Devi East in the morning. Return to the base camp after exploring the surrounding area. In the tent, spend the night.

Day 12 - Nanda Devi East Base Camp - Martoli (3430 m/11250 ft) (14 kms/5-6 hrs)

You'll set off on your walk this morning at a leisurely hour. Although the trip to the Martoli village is a continuous descent, one should remain cautious the entire way. When you get to Martoli, tents are set up for your overnight stay.

Day 13 - Martoli - Bugdiar (2500 m/8200 ft) (13 kms/4-5 hrs)

You will begin your walk early on the thirteenth day and go through Railkot, Nahar Devi, and Mapang before arriving at Bugdiar. In the tent, spend the night.

Day 14 - Bugdiar – Lilam (12 kms/4 hrs)

The trekking route will take you via Sunni, Rupshya Bagar, and Rargadi on the fourteenth day before arriving at the village of Lilam. In the tent, spend the night.

Day 15 - Lilam – Munsyari (2290 m/7512 ft)

You have one more day of hiking left before you reach Selapani Village, a 3-hour drive away. To go to Munsyari from here, take a typical mountain vehicle. Check in at the hotel or guest house as you arrive. Spend the night at the inn or guesthouse.

Day 16 - Munsyari – Kathgodam

Drive to Kathgodam in the morning to catch the Ranikhet Express to the Old Delhi Railway Station. Onboard the train for an overnight trip.
